We always took pride in taking good care of our clients, not only during the hunt but way before the trip even starts. We are not humble when it comes to our PHs and office staff. They do almost everything within reason to make their clients happy. After all this is part of the tradition , good old “Turkish hospitality”. However this hunt with M.White and R.Welch was an exception. Indeed these two true gentleman had to tend our PH who suffered a severe kidney stone pain the night they arrived the hunting camp. Since they had personally gone through the same experience, they knew a few tricks that could ease the pain. They really t...
If there is one thing tougher than taking a 40 inch Dagestan Tur it must be collecting a 40 inch Kuban Tur. R.Khan hunted in Azerbaijan with Caprinae back in 2008 hoping to get a good Tur. Wishes were granted. The horns measured over 40 inches along the big arc when the tape was put on them. After about nine years, this time Robert undertook a harder mission on the Russian side of the Caucasus range. His aim was not a 40 inch Kuban Tur but maybe something close to that magic number mark. Once more he were successful in fulfilling his dream. He did not have to stretch the tape as much but the horns of the monster Tur was big enough to m...
“Bow hunting is a conscious decision to make the hunt harder than it needs to be” says well known bow hunter Tom Miranda. We all know that hunting any game animals with bow is a difficult undertaking. Bow hunting some of the mountain game such as Dagestan Tur is even a harder goal to achieve. However this past spring brought us some incredible results. The two bow hunters we received in Azerbaijan (B. Coors, P. Ampuero) at different periods managed to arrow their Tur on the very first day of their hunts. What is more both animals were big, old specimens of their kind. In fact, one will probably turn out the new #1 Archery Dagestan Tur i...
C. Jackson and J. Dovemberg were the last two hunters of our Bezoar ibex season. The areas both hunters hunted were not so far apart. So as it was planned, Chris joined Jim when he collected his 11-year-old ibex after a few days of hunting. His help with glassing was much appreciated. Jim hold out for a real big one and finally harvested a nice, representative ibex just before his last hunting day. We thank both hunters for their efforts to collect mature, old animals. We are looking forward to their next adventure in Pakistan with Caprinae.
Bow hunting is about the whole process. That was the message C. Foss was trying to give us when we told him the odds of drilling a Bezoar with bow were not very high. We knew that he was a tough, experienced hunter but still it would not change the fact that it was a hard task to undertake. Cam hunted five solid days and finally arrowed a good size ibex on the sixth day of the hunt. Most probably the hardest part of the hunt for Cam was fighting to stay motivated since the terrain was not an obstacle for this tough & avid young hunter.
We don’t get too many hunters to hunt with us from Australia or Norway but a few. However we never had any hunting partners from both countries to hunt together before Carsten and Espen contacted us for a hunt Himalayan ibex & Sind ibex combination in Pakistan. Their intention was to pick the best time to go after some big ibex. Their wish was granted. Both collected huge ibex that can definitely make the top five. In the SCI book.
R. Papapietro spent a total of six days on Pakistan soil and collected three great looking animals. Three of these six days were spent on travelling and the rest was hunting time. Within this time he collected a monster Blanford urial and a very good size Sind ibex. His Punjap urial was equally good, possibly some of the biggest in the book. However the beauty of the two ram with their full ruff and bib outshined their huge sizes.
In fact we at the Caprinae did so for many years until time prove that we were wrong. R. Harley was one of the first clients to support our new company when Caprinae Safaris came into existence. He did quite a few hunts with the company since in the last decade or so but his last trip to Kyrgyzstan turned out to be the best hunt ever. He collected a monster Hume argali that measured exactly 61 inches along the horns. This stunningly beautiful ram would make a new world record if Hume argali was categorized separately in the SCI book. But it is possibly the biggest argali out of Kyrgyzstan that got into record.
During the past five years, Cheryl and Marc Hansen made several trips to Turkey with Caprinae Travel for touring the country’s historical and natural beauties. Being an avid hunter, Marc never skipped a chance to throw in a hunt in order to combine both leisure activities. This season was no exception for the couple as they visited some other parts of the country they had not seen previously. The beautiful red deer stag Marc took in the end of the trip was the icing cake of the whole journey. Hansens are already looking into another trip to Turkey next year but we are struggling to find something for Marc to hunt he did not hunt in his...
Not everyone is lucky enough to draw a Rocky Mountain big horn sheep, but we found out that G. Boienti of Italy was. When he drew a tag about three years ago he put it in a request to postpone his Blue Sheep hunt with Caprinae. This year he finally had enough time to make a quick trip to this isolated part of Pakistan. Before long he filled his tag with a ram that will propably rank # 2 in the SCI book. I guess it is true that every cloud has a silver lining.
It has been a good year for Enrique Fernandez as he collected two exceptional trophies within four months time. Enrique was in Azerbaijan not too long ago, chasing a 40 inch Dagestan Tur which is now being mounted in expert hands. Although very happy with what he shot in Azerbaijan, Enrique’s most sought after trophy was always Bezoar as he had done three previous trips to Turkey to harvest a 50+ incher. He finally fulfilled his long awaited dream. We think that this whopper will give him some rest but don’t think that will stop Enrique from pursuing bigger Bezoar ibex.
B. Keifer hunted many animals over the years in many different countries but never had any chamois hunting experiences previously. When we were notified about his inquiry for a hunt in Romania we could not dream for a better outcome in terms of trophy quality. He ended up shooting the pending SCI #2 Carpathian chamois along with a very good size European Brown bear.
