Best international outfitter of the year

Best international outfitter of the year

Caprinae Safaris has been given the “Best International Outfitter of the Year” award by the Wild Sheep Foundation. The award was previously given to only 4 other outfitters and Caprinae had the honour of being the fifth to ever received the award. We would like to thank all who contributed to our success. For the ones who want to find out more about the award, here is a link: https://www.wildsheepfoundation.org/awards/hunting/international-international-outfitter-of-the-year

New generation of Russian hunters

New generation of Russian hunters

Slaba Gorb is in his mid 40s and has hunted a good number of mountain game around the world already. His trip to Pakistan for Blanford urial and Sind ibex was completed in such a short time that he wanted to extend it by adding a Punjap urial to his hunting bag which he did. Being so happy with the whole trip Slaba started making plans for another trip to northern part of the country for other species as soon as he returned home.

Monsieur Chevalier gets a good one on the first day

Monsieur Chevalier gets a good one on the first day

Daniel Andre Chevalier collected this nice Bezoar on the first hunting day of his trip to Turkey. He had to climb only about 300 yards up and he was within the shooting range. He now probably thinks that Bezoar hunting is the easiest mountain game on earth. Mr. Chevalier and his wife spent the rest of their time in Turkey touring and enjoying themselves with their French speaking tour guide Osman who will be a lifelong friend of the family.

Two Konya Sheep mount in a trophy room

Two Konya Sheep mount in a trophy room

We have known Mr. Seeno for long years. Without any exceptions, he visited our booth at the shows in Reno every single year for nearly a decade. Our conversations mostly revolved around a possible Bezoar hunt at these shows. Just as we were wondering if this hunt would ever materialize, he finally announced that he had managed his time to make it this coming season. Since we knew Mr Seeno’s heavy schedule, this was the best news of the whole show. He explained that he would not be alone on this trip. Albert III was to join him on his quest of Bezoar ibex and Konya sheep. So after years of making plans with Mr. Seeno, we would finally have...

Pakistan keeps offering its benefits to trophy hunters

Pakistan keeps offering its benefits to trophy hunters

Mychal Murray and T. J. Sanchez met in a hunting camp somewhere in Russia and started hunting together since then. Both are fine young hunters with a considerable amount of international hunting experience under their belt. This past February found them in Pakistan hunting ibex, both kind namely Sind ibex and Himalayan ibex. Both hunters were fortunate enough to be rewarded with monstrous size Sind ibex and also with good representative Himalayan ibex specimens

First couple ever to get the Weatherby Award

First couple ever to get the Weatherby Award

Only a few family produced as many international hunters as Sackman family did. We are not talking about hunters who hunt an animal here and there several times a year. At least five members of the family pursue game species most of us never heard of in the most secluded corners of the world. This relentless quest this time took them to 3 different hunting destination, namely Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Barbara, Alan, Marry Ann and Warren was to hunt 4 Mid Eastern Red deer in Turkey before they move on to Kyrgyzstan to chase ibex. The last lag of their hunt would be the Pamir mountains of Tajikistan where great big Marc...

Inspiration for his bronzes

Inspiration for his bronzes

Some of you may know him by his art, especially by his sculptures. TD Kelsey is renowned artist specialized in bronze sculptures of western subjects and wildlife. He hunted the Taurus mountains of western Turkey and succeeded in harvesting this old Bezoar. We hope that TD will be inspired by this beautiful animal for his future projects.

A classic combo of three species in Pakistan

A classic combo of three species in Pakistan

One of our best selling hunts is a Blanford urial and Sind ibex combo. However most hunters would like to throw in at least one more specie to make the trip worthwhile. In most cases this specie happens to be a Himalayan ibex. Mike Borel’s trip to Pakistan involved such a combination. He scored with a huge Blanford urial along with good representative ibex of Sind and Himalayan kind.

Jeff is in such a hurry

J. Demaske had a long waiting period before his visa was issued for a trip to Pakistan. But he certainly made up for the lost time when he set foot on Pakistani soil. He collected 4 great size animals in 10 days including travelling time. It took him two days to score with two monster trophies in Karachi area including a 46 inch Sind ibex and 34 inch Blandford urial. His good luck travelled with him for the rest of the trip. He was then rewarded with a good size Punjap urial (29”) and a Himalayan ibex that was above the magic number of 40 inches. But what made this trip unique was that all these was done in ten days.

Susan struck it lucky again with a late season hunt

Susan struck it lucky again with a late season hunt

One of the weirdest things had happened to Susan on her first trip to Turkey. His dead Bezoar which was estimated to be a 50 incher had disappeared into thin air when they arrived to the kill site. But two years later a determined Susan returned to collect even a bigger billy. She has now settled this matter with these strikingly pretty animals and is taking home a giant, 130 cm (51”) Bezoar. Congratulations Susan.

One more for the Bears of the World

One more for the Bears of the World

A. Ceylan of Turkey is an avid hunter but he takes special joy in hunting bears. Collecting this monster 650CIC point European Brown bear in Romania earned him the SCI’s Grand Slam of the Bears of the World in diamond. We have been told that there isn’t any bear as big as this one even in the museum of Chavushescu, the former dictator of the country.

Roger is against the statistics

Roger is against the statistics

Years ago Dennis Campbell made a comment about the combination hunts of 3 Tur species. At that time there were only 9 guys who had ever tried to collect 3 species of Tur on one trip and only 3 of them -out of 9- were successful in their pursuit. Not knowing the statistical figures, R. Flahive decided to take up that challenge. He indeed collected all three Tur, Dagestan, Mid Caucasian and the Kuban besides Caucasian chamois with flying colours. What is more, he was in Russia one week before the Caprinae staff arrived in order to make the summit of mount Elbrus at 5642 meters ( 18,510ft)

Timing is crucial

Timing is crucial

P. Dooley had become a familiar face for us after visiting us at the SCI conventions in consecutive 2 years. He finally booked the hunt and made it to Turkey right in the middle of Bezoar rut. It seems like he was making plans for the right time to connect with this monster ibex.

Last minute hunt

Last minute hunt

Pero Caveleros book this hunt at the very last minute as the season in Azerbaijan was drawing to a close. Despite all the negative conditions with weather on the mountain, Pero worked hard a few days passing a few animals and earned this great looking, huge size Dagestan Tur.

Deandas are a part of the family after this many hunts with Caprinae

Deandas are a part of the family after this many hunts with Caprinae

David Deanda of Guadalajara (MX) has a large family with five sons whom all are hunters. David gets to be accompanied by one of his sons each time he takes a hunting trip abroad. This time it was Jorge’s turn. On this two destination-four animal trip, father and son went to Azerbaijan first and were awarded with two good Dagestan Tur that would leave any mountain hunter envious before they travelled to Turkey where they chased Mid eastern red stag in roar. Four days into the hunt both scored with two nice stags. We are wandering what their next trip with Caprinae will be.
