When Leon booked this Marco Polo hunt he was in a perfect shape for any mountain hunt under the sun and all he needed was one more mountain species from Asia to be eligible for SCI’s “World Conservation & Hunting Award” Only two months prior to hunt we received an upsetting e-mail from his wife. Leon was hospitalized due to a virus infected to his brain by a mosquito. We had to postpone the hunt while Leon stayed in that terrible condition for months. Next time we saw him months later at the convention in his wheelchair, we lost all our hopes for the hunt although he looked determined. We rescheduled him for this hunt once again not believeing that he could be ready for such a hunt in eight month time. But we were wrong as November found him in Kyrgyzistan. He was up and ready despite all his problems with balance which he didn’t know if he could overcome. He succeded collecting not only the Marco Polo but he also took a very good size ibex on the same trip. Our respects go to this great hunter who collected over 200 species with handgun.
