It took Henry years to make a final decision to hunt Bezoar in Turkey although we had talked about this many times at shows over the years. He finally took a step to make his long waited dream come true. He called us asking for an available permit when he was on his way to Spain for another ibex hunt. Early December found Henry in Turkey along with miserable weather. Still the first hunting day was good enough to spot some game and the monarch of the mountain showed himself to Henry for the first time. The following days of the hunt brought nothing but worse weather conditions. Seeing the monstrous ibex only once in four days had haunted Henry’s mind. However his luck changed on the fifth day into the hunt as he was within the shooting range of this exceptional billy. One shot was all that was needed to tag this outstanding trophy. The horns measured 57 3/8 around the keel and the whole trophy scored 133 SCI points after the drying period which ranked him new SCI World Record Bezoar ibex in the book. All the cancellations for this hunt must have been for good reason. After all “every cloud has a silver lining” they say.
